Pay as you feel cafes and shopping boutiques. We are about saving good food from going to waste. You can come along and shop or eat and you decide the value of the food by paying in time, cash, skills or item donations.

We started in September 2015 by becoming partners of The Real Junk Food Project and started at our first venue in October 2015 feeding only around 15 people a week.

Chloe Heart our founder, admin, rotten food detector and toilet scrubber (not afraid to get stuck in to any job), decided to set up the Trash Cafe Network after living the struggles of poverty herself with her young family and also hating waste of any kind.

She quotes: ‘I have never experienced hunger like I did in the few months with no income. I was lucky to have a support network of local family, even if they didn’t know how bad my struggles were. I promised the day I got back on my feet and once again had a car I would set something like the Trash Cafe up, 9 months later I did.’

The Trash Cafe Network now supports over 4,000 people a week in the South of Hampshire with food and other resources saved. We not only offer our shops, hampers and cafes but also work with a wide range of other fantastic organisations.
